WHAT TO EXPECT

Consultation

I provide free consultation visits for new clients, at which time:

I will learn your pet and home care routine
We will go over the Service Agreement
You can make sure you feel comfortable with me caring for your pets
I will collect your home key
Payment for your reservation is due

Service Agreement

Please be prepared at the consultation to provide all necessary information including:

Veterinarian's name, address and phone number
Your contact information while away
Your flight itinerary (if applicable)
Name and phone number for a local emergency contact
Names of people with permitted access to your home
Alarm code (if applicable)
Landlord/HOA phone number (if applicable)
Housekeeper/Gardener/Handyman names and phone numbers (if applicable)

Keys

In the interest of your home security, I will not pick up or leave keys hidden somewhere near the home, and will not lock the keys in the house on my last visit. The following options are available:

I retain your keys for future services (your name and address will not be identified with the keys)
I mail your keys to you at an address other than your home (for security)
You drop off/pick up your keys
I pick up/drop off your keys (fee applies)

How to Prepare

- Please leave all necessary supplies to care for your pet in a visible area. This includes:

Food, treats
Food and water dishes
Spoon for canned food
Medications

Toys
Pet Carrier
Cleaning supplies
Paper towels/rags/towels

Litter
Litter scoop
Litter pan liners
Plastic bags for litter disposal

- Remember to stock up on enough pet food and kitty litter to last the duration of your trip as well as more in the event you are delayed in returning to avoid having to pay a trip fee in the event that I have to run to the store to replenish your supplies if you run out.

- Please inform your veterinarian that Curious Cat Sitting will be caring for your pets in your absence. If possible, make arrangements to have your veterinarian reimbursed for any service necessary during your absence by leaving a credit card on file.

- Leave recently worn t-shirts in places where your pet will feel comfort from your scent.

- Set your thermostat at a comfortable temperature for your pets.

- If you have rugs or carpet that require special cleaning solutions, please be sure to leave the proper cleaner along with cleaning instructions in case of a pet accident.

- If you have a security alarm system, please notify the company that a pet sitter will be coming to your home and give them my name and phone number.

- If your pets are used to having a TV or radio on while you are home, it may calm them to have it left on while you are away as well (this may also serve as a crime deterrent).

- Unplug all unnecessary appliances in order to prevent damage from electrical storms or pet injuries.

- Please inform your neighbors of your absence and that you are using my services.

Your Return Home

Please call or email to let me know that you've returned home. Unless I hear from you I will continue pet sitting to ensure your pets are cared for.
